Summary

We have been granted access to the survey data in the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s health (ALSWH) and working on the first project to compare if there are any generation difference in falls, injurious falls and physical activity participation in Australian women between two cohorts.

  • Prospective study since 1996
  • Samples randomly drawn from national Medicare health insurance database
  • Self-reported survey data every 3 years
  • Access to number of health record collections
  • >57000 women in 4 cohorts (i.e.,1921-26, 1946-51, 1973-78, 1985-95)
    • 1921-26: Aged 70-75 in 1996, aged 85-90 in 2011
    • 1946-51: Aged 45-50 in 1996, aged 68-73 in 2019
